Biography of Annmarie Hintze

Annmarie Hintze - Learning Center Teacher

What a blessing it is to be the new Learning Center teacher! I have the unique opportunity of being able to work individually with children in many different grades that come to me on various ability levels.

I grew up in Milwaukee. I went to grade school at Jordan in West Allis and I attended Wisconsin Lutheran High School. In 1989 I graduated from Doctor Martin Luther College with a Bachelor of Science in Education. I was called to teach in grades 1-4 at Jerusalem Lutheran School in Morton Grove, IL, where I taught for two years. I got married to my husband, Chris, in 1991. I then went to St. John's Lutheran School in Milwaukee to begin their preschool program as the PreK Director for two years.

The Lord then called me to be a full-time mother. In the past twelve years I have been blessed with five amazing children and I have enjoyed the opportunity I have had to be home with them. In the meantime, I worked at Woodlawn Lutheran School in West Allis and for Wisconsin Lutheran Women's Missionary Society as a secretary. I substitute taught off and on, helped with Sunday School, and volunteered at Hoover Elementary School working with students who needed extra help in reading and math.

My interests include children's literature, art and being outdoors. I love working with children of all ages, especially if I can teach them something "hands on" or help them learn something in a new and interesting way.
