Biography of Michele Drska

Michele Drska - Pre-K Director

One of my favorite Bible passages is found in Proverbs 3:5 & 6; “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.” As I look back on my life I can see how the Lord led me, not always in the way I thought I would be going, but in His ways, on paths that surely blessed me.

I grew up in a Christian home in Broadview, Illinois, a small town in the western suburbs of Chicago. I lived in the same house for 17 years with my 3 sisters and parents, until leaving for Iowa where I attended Northwestern College. My husband, Gary and I met while we worked at Loyola hospital during high school. We married 4 years later and celebrated our 28th anniversary this past July. We moved around many times during those first years, as Gary was building flight time on different aircraft. We started out in Daytona Beach, Florida, and then moved back “home” to Illinois.

We weren’t there long before we moved again to Jonesboro, Arkansas, and then to Maine. We ended up in Appleton, Wisconsin for 8 years before settling in Muskego in 1988. Gary is currently a Captain flying for Midwest Airlines. The Lord blessed us with three wonderful children. Our daughter, Melissa is married to Scott and works for Northwestern Mutual. Our daughter, Melanie is a 3rd grade teacher, and our son, Michael began his first year of college this fall. Our golden retriever, Mattie rounds out the family.

We have been quite active at St. Paul’s since joining the church when we moved to Muskego. I have been privileged to serve here as a Sunbeam leader, Sunday School teacher, and on several committees. I helped to begin our preschool program when it began in 1991, and continue to serve as a 4K teacher and director of the PreK program. I consider it a great privilege to share God’s love with His little lambs at St. Paul’s. The children and their families have been such a blessing to me.

I truly cherish and enjoy the time I’m given to spend with my own family and in my spare time I love to read. We especially enjoy traveling as a family to Florida, where my parents reside, Door County, North Carolina and Arizona.

I am ever thankful for God’s love and presence in my life.
