Biography of Mary Deglow

MARY DEGLOW - 4th Grade Teacher

I was born in Beaver Dam, WI. My parents were Ralph, a truck driver, and Myrtle, a homemaker. They had 6 children, 2 girls and 4 boys.

I attended St. Stephen’s Lutheran School for grades 1-8, and my high school years were spent at Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fond du Lac, WI

I received my education degree from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN with additional education at WLC, UWM, UWS and Alverno to supplement and reinforce my teaching skills.

My first Call was to St Paul’s in Van Dyne, WI to a little one-room school house to teach 28 students in K-8. I remained there 2 years.

My second Call was to St. Marcus in downtown Milwaukee to teach grades 3-4 and coach girls’ athletics. I remained there 8 years.

My next, and present, Call was to St. Paul’s, Muskego, WI where I was to teach grades 3-4 and coach girls’ athletics. I have been teaching in various grades depending on our school population. At present I teach 4th grade and am in charge of our art curriculum. I have been teaching here for 34 years.

The joys of teaching are too numerous to mention, and God has surely blessed me. St. Paul’s is truly blessed with facilities, a devoted staff, and dedicated parents. It has been my greatest joy to serve his children here, and hope to do so in the future.
