Skip Bremer - Principal
I was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and grew up in neighboring Gretna with my two older sisters and parents.
My mother was a former WELS teacher and retired from the Post Office. My father retired from
Western Electric. My parents live in Glendale, Arizona. I attended Gretna Public Schools from Kindergarten through grade 8. Nebraska Lutheran High School in Waco, Nebraska, opened up my freshman
year. I attended all four years and graduated in 1983 (best decision my father ever made for me!).
I grew up playing sports of all kinds and cheering for the Huskers.
I graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota, in 1987. I met my wife at
DMLC. We were married after her graduation in 1988. We have five boys: Phillip, Aaron, David, Alexander and Caleb. My wife, Kathy, is from Cambridge, Wisconsin, where she grew up with three sisters and a
brother. Her mother is an RN, and her father is a WELS pastor currently serving in Burlington, Iowa. Kathy serves as one of St. Paul’s PreK teachers.
I was assigned in 1987 to serve as principal and upper grade teacher at St. John’s in Neillsville, Wisconsin.
In 1993 I accepted a call to serve as principal and upper grade teacher at Zion Lutheran in Torrance,
California. In 1998 I took a leave of absence from the ministry to pursue a Master’s Degree. I
did teach science and math at Paradise Valley Christian School that year. I accepted a call to serve as
Minister of Education at Grace Lutheran in Glendale, Arizona, in 1999. In 2001 I received my Masters
of Education: Educational Administration and Supervision from Arizona State University and was
elected a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. I have served here at St. Paul’s since 2006.
I am thrilled to be part of your church and school family and part of the Muskego community. Thank
you for making me and my family feel so welcome. St. Paul’s has so many wonderful things happening – there’s such a positive atmosphere here. My prayer is that God will continue to bless St. Paul’s
and allow me to serve faithfully with each of you.
