Some of Our Ministries
Adult Bible Studies - They meet on Sundays
and during the week. There are large and small groups.
Sunday School - Sunday School serves
the youth of the congregation with a more age orientated instuction
in Gods word. They meet at 9:30 with class ages ranging from 3 year
olds to teenagers.
Cancer Support Group - This is a mentor program consisting of cancer survivors who will encourage, support, pray for and help those affected by cancer.
Elizabeth Ministry - Elizabeth Ministry is designed to support women and their families during the joys, trials and sorrows of the childbearing years. Elizabeth Ministry’s mission is to cherish children, encourage families and build community. The Elizabeth Ministry celebrates the gift of each child conceived and born, and fully mourn each miscarriage, abortion, stillbirth and infant or child death. By treasuring the gift of fertility, supporting those suffering infertility problems, encouraging those in the adoptive process, and assisting families experiencing an infant or child crisis or special need, we will be a strong witness to our belief in the dignity and worth of all life.
Prayer Partners in Christ - This group
provides prayer support in the form of a prayer chain as a means
of ministering to the needs of others. It creates a family-type
atmosphere of love & concern among its members.
Prison Pen Pal Ministry - This group
of caring individuals sends greetings of good cheer by writing letters.
This effort offers a means of spiritual support & friendship
for members and new members who are incarcerated.
Cradle Roll - Cradle Roll is an education,
support, & encouragement program for young children of the congregation
& their parents. Every 3-4 months from the time a child is baptized
at St. Paul's until the child reaches his/her 4th birthday, Bible-based
fun activities, special gifts, child development information, &
parent training materials are mailed to the child & his/her
parents.
Church Nursery/Babysitting Ministry -
This group of volunteers provides a babysitting service during church
& for any school-related function. This allows parents "unrestricted"
opportunity to attend church & meetings.
Caring Card Ministry - This group sends
greeting cards of friendship & good cheer to the following:
shut-ins, birthdays for those 75 and older, hospitalized, milestone
anniversaries, births/baptisms, new members/death/other needs, chronic
illnesses, home missionary birthdays, college students, teen spiritual
birthdays, & military/institutionalized. Volunteers serve out
of their homes on a rotating, every-third-month schedule.
Hospital To Home Ministry - Lay Visitations
are made to people while in the hospital and again when they return
to their homes. Visits are also made to those who are considered
shut-ins. Lay Volunteers greet our people with a friendly smile,
have a brief devotion with them, and address any needs they might
have.
Group Home Visitation Ministry - Visitations
& devotions are given weekly by lay leaders & a ministerial
staff member at 5 area Alzheimer/Elderly Care residences.
Food Pantry - Donations of non-perishable
food & money from the congregation are placed in a food barrel
in the narthex of the church. Volunteers then deliver food to the
homes of the needy families within & outside of our congregation
and offer "spiritual food" as well. Special efforts are
made during the various holiday seasons.
Library --The Church Library is always
looking for volunteers who can help with the multiple tasks that
are needed to run our successful library. We need members who can
help on Sunday mornings with assisting members checking out materials.
We need help with creating posters to promote the library. Numerous
times during the year we have work nights to process new material
for the library. Twice a year, the library holds a book fair, one
in February at the congregational dinner and the second one is at
the church picnic in August. We currently have 2600 books, 600 videos,
and 225 audio cassettes in our library. We also offer video tapes
of previous church services.
Special Ministries - This ministry exists
to encourage, educate, and prepare our members to identify, reach
out, include, and welcome those poeple who have special needs within
our congregation and those in the community. Click here for the
WELS website for special ministries.
